Working with another creative talent—in this case, Lara Scarberry of Tengara Designs—really allows the imagination to flow!
Lara Scarberry approached WinSome Design to help brand her jewelry business and for ideas to help her grow. Lara creates high-end one-of-a-kind pieces using precious gems and metals. In addition, she has a special occasion line that she sells through bridal and formal outlets.
We started with a logo. Lara’s jewelry is inspired by natural elements, including water flows, trees, flowers and even highlights and shadows. Every piece tells a story. We worked to include natural, organic elements into her logo with drawn typography and a floral piece.
Presentation is everything—and with that, we worked to create presentation folders for bracelets or earrings, and hang tags for earrings and longer pieces. Both use texture and pattern to feel more like natural elements. The folder includes an artist statement from Lara to her clients. Many of her customers rave as much about the presentation of the jewelry as they do about the jewelry itself!
In late October 2011, we launched a new website for Tengara Designs, allowing customers to shop online, or to find her in gallery shows, craft shows, and fashion shows around town. The website has given Lara the ability to compete with brick and mortar stores, while keeping her overhead low and her customer service more one-to-one.
Lara says, “WinSome Design created a totally unique look for my business, one that is not only totally “me,” but is polished and professional. I make custom jewelry, and it is thanks to Jane Winslow and her design and programming team that I have cohesive, focused marketing materials featuring the logo and website that she designed and implemented. She and her employees have not only completely redesigned my logo and built my just-released website, they have helped me focus and build my message and brand. It is a privilege and a pleasure to work with Jane, and her uniquely knowledgeable approach to brand development. She works intensively one-on-one with her clients to tailor image to product, and at the same time makes the entire process fun and enjoyable.”
We love working with Lara, and love being a part of her success in business.
Update: Lara has since gone back to gemology school for additional training. In the meantime, she has closed Tengara Designs. Upon graduation, she will reopen. 5/14
